Cialis® (generic name, tadalafil) is the brand name of a drug used to treat male erectile dysfunction (impotence), developed by the biotech firm ICOS and marketed worldwide by Eli Lilly. Cialis has FDA approval and appeared in U.S. stores in December, 2003. It works by inhibiting an enzyme known as PDE5. Due to its 36-hour effect it is also known as Weekend Pill.
