I just bought COLIBRI.net/colibri.net.
The domain has been registered since 1998, which makes it 14 years old.
The word "colibri" itself, is the name of the genus which a hummingbird is.
What do you think about this domain, to sell to an end-user as well as not?
Would really appreciate your thoughts on this one!
Thanks,
Christian

I doubt that allegations of any trademark violation could be made to stick on Colibri.net unless you knowingly interfered in the industry of some company that uses "Colibri" as its brand. And why would you?
I think it's an excellent domain, apart from the .net. Sooner or later some company will use "Colibri" as its identity. (There may already be such companies.) Probably they will take .com and .fr before they think of .net; so if you can acquire those 2 domains as well, I recommend that you do so and cut off their escape routes. Then you'll be in a position to control the pricing of all 3.
I would say that the "Colibri" is one of the more symbolic animals. I can think of multiple French poets who have written about the hummingbird. It's almost a cliche! And cliches are good for domain valuations.
There are possible end users in the IT field for this domain.

Colibri = Spanish for hummingbird (actual word is colibrí, accent on i, but we don't use accents/IDN for URL unless badly needed)
Beautiful name, beautiful bird.
Very brandable.
Agree, dot net hurts, but still nice name.
TM issues... hardly, unless you commit flagrant piracy on existent logo/brand/industry. Colibri is very generic.
Value... hmmm... Dunno. I would pay 2000 for the dotcom if i had a book about them hummingbirds, maybe 10-20K if i had a brick and mortar store with same name.

Nice! I'd forgotten about the Spanish word. That makes for a much bigger audience. I got curious and googled "colibri"--as I'm sure you (the owner) have done already. What you'll have seen on page 1 is a landscape dominated by the business that owns and has developed the .com already. They may feel either (1) that they own page 1 already and therefore don't need the .net or (2) that they MUST at all costs dominate the "colibri" search space, in which case they may gobble up your .net too. But the important thing, from my point of view, is that you have pages and pages of businesses whose brand is already "colibri" and whose domain names contain the word "colibri". Some of them have little budgets, but some may have wallets with padding. Given how lazy we internet searchers are, "colibri" is about the longest thing we're likely to enter in Google on a first try; so these businesses might want Colibri{dot}net for use in SEO ... to rank ahead of 4 pages of competitors.
Seems there are a ton of endusers for this name: http://www.leadrefs.com/?domain=colibri.net
Colibri means hummingbird in other languages too.
