Finalfantasyforum.com

I caught this today.

FinalFantasyForum.com

Overture for the term has around 650.

I've been tracking this for around 2 months, I hope it was worth it! What do you think?

Re: Finalfantasyforum.com

I don't think all these forum names undeveloped are worth anywhere near as much as people are saying in my view.

Forums are hard to develop whatever name you have really depending on the market, I really think forum names need to be developed first, but just my 2 cents.

Re: Finalfantasyforum.com

you are correct.
However, If I want to develop a final fantasy forum, what do you think is better?
finalfantasyforum.com or final-fantasy-talking.cc ???

Also note, the forum itself will get type in traffic (check OVT with extension).
the name makes a BIG difference, but, all in all, development makes a HUGE difference as well.
add the 2 together, and you make THE difference.

it looks like you are not aware that "Final Fantasy" is one of the most famous games in the world!

Great name, develop it and get 100 members in it to get the low $XXXX

Re: Finalfantasyforum.com

Would you say that vBulletin would be the way to go for the forum? I've never used it before, is it worth the investment?

Thanks for your comment lwgik

i'd say final fantasy ... if you do fantasy football, you had better offer leagues and that would be difficult

I just wonder.

How many companies have ever gobe after a xxxxxxxxxforum type domain and actually won?

Sure the name bight be TMed. But if it is being used as a forum, and maybe with adsense to get some revenue to keep it going, why would a company go agter such a name?
It would be interesting to research this.

Hard to see a company coming hard on a fan based forum...

Re: Finalfantasyforum.com

yes, well....
Microsoft is a company name...
Final Fantasy, used as intented is a fan based site (about a product of a company).
Now, I have a domain that is a MS product that is at SEDO for years now, I have received 4 offers and declined, which, If anything whould be provocative, yet MS did nothing.

I see the point you are making, I just dont think it is a valid one.

Re: Finalfantasyforum.com

See what the traffic is like. I buy a LOT of FF related domains/sites. I just bought 2 very big sites last week.
The traffic is important obviously but the problem with selling is there are so many developed FF sites for sale all the time. Some with tons of traffic.

I would suggest developing it and keeping it and earning money from the traffic rather than selling it. The only drawback is the people on the forum are obviously kids and most kids dont have disposable income.

As mentioned before it is hard to get this type of forum off the grond. The reason is fans of FF are very loyal to their forums and dont jump around much. Also most of the kids looking for a FF related forum are typically looking for a specific game as opposed to FF in general.

Oh yeah and if you develop it use Vb and add the RPG hack! It is very popular at one of my forums!

Good luck!

John
