And Free-Wallpaper.com gets 1409 a month. So, if someone types "Free-Wallpaper" in the search box of their browser, do all the returns go to the .com?
no they don't, on mine it gives a "Cannot Find server" error![]()

Omni - what are you talkin about?
To figure out how many people typein the domainname.ext you would use a tracker
To figure out how often a certain term is searched for,you indeed use overture.
Checking overture search results for domainname.ext makes no sense.
hi beatz
The overture results for domainname.ext is supposedly suppose to show you how "popular" a name is. In the sense that if a domainname.ext returns a result other than 0 (and a negative number) you would generally expect the type-ins to be greater than the value.
Purpose - to do a "research" on the possible value of a domain name. Hope that answers your question.
Thanks beatz. Your input enlighten the subject.

the overture suggestion tool treats hyphens as spaces.
the mix of hyphen plus .net makes this very unlikely to be getting type-ins (whereas freewallpaper.com will definately be getting them).
that leaves it as a seo domain, and there are so many of those as to kill off any real premium above reg fee imo.
agree with safesys 90%
the remaining 10% goes to whether keyword domains really help for the purpose of seo. does anyone have an answer to this backed with proof?
oh well...Guess i wasted my money. Again.
Least it comes with a lesson learnt![]()

Sorry Omni but totally wrong.
I would say 0,000000000001 % of people put in the url into a SE's searchbox if at all. People use SEs for SEARCHTERMS,not for URL's.So to check how many searches on overture where done for an URL is just nonsense, sorry.
As for the hyphens: Even if it is a hypenated .net - as long as it is a generic searchterm domain that has high searches on overture (meaning searches on the TERM,not the DOMAIN) it still is a GREAT searchengine name that if optimized and developed is A LOT more worth than reggin fee.
I agree with that beatz. But it's one of the indicator someone might use to help determine the possible type-in "value" of a domain if you know what I mean.
true, and it also so treats spaces as spaces so are the typing in "free wallpaper.com" or "free-wallpaper.com" or some other weird character between the two keywords which also registers as a blank?Originally posted by safesys
