Right guys this is my first post and my knowledge of domains/domain sales etc is extremely limited, so please be gentle with me....

I am trying to sell a few domains with Sedo at the moment, the main one being Funkthis.com. Having taken all of Sedo's advice, and even paid for the featured listing on Funkthis.com my views on Sedo is now up to 5.75 per day and rising steadily.

Now I am aware that I am selling a domain name with no content but I have got good feedback from people emailing me cold and asking me if I am selling the domain. So the question I have to ask now is....why am I getting no offers via Sedo, and what can I do to change this. My original reason for using Sedo was to give the whole sale process some structure which Sedo has done a fantastic job of managing for me...so don't get me wrong, this is not a ***** at Sedo, they are extremely helpful and professional IMHO.

Any criticism, constructive preferred, or advice would really be appreciated. Oh and what do you guys think the value of the funkthis.com domain name would/should be ?

not much, if any value for this name.

although you have already spent some additional dollars,it would have wiser to get
an opinion here first, before paying for a featured listing.

it may generate more views by being featured,but chance of offers will be slim.

As I said I am knew to any kind of domain sales, I only found Sedo by doing a google search, and I didnt find dnforum.com until after I had signed up with Sedo.

Thanks for being so candid about your perceived value on funkthis.com, I am currently waiting till the end of the month for a final price but I have bids to the value of $1200 available to me privately at the moment. This is I suppose why I was asking the question in the first place, as it appears that domains that I would think have some value appear not to when appraised.

I am on a steep and extremely fast learning curve so your directness in this matter is really appreciated, again thanks for taking the time to reply.

It is very nice to have you here!

My appraisal is only my opinion, and not that of this forum.

If you already have bids of four figures for this domain, then you are in the drivers seat.

What may not interest me or others, could be exactly what another is interested in!

The question now is........what price to accept?

If you acquired the name at regg fee, then accepting this bid would be a nice profit!

But i try not to let greed, get in the way of a sale!

I know what you mean in terms of what price to accept which is why I think I have set a date rather than a figure, and all interested parties have been told this date as well.

Thanks for your grace towards a newbie, I often find that being a newbie can be an uncomfortable experience.....being an old fart in the I.T. world I often find it bemusing as well that people won't share the benefit of their experience, so again thanks

Nick, assuming you got the name at a reasonable price, I would sell at any 4 figure price you get (in $, euros, or pounds, not in Russian roubles obviously)

I cant find any links to the domain itself as to ascertain value, so go for it.
it could be someones nick name or avatar and they may be wiling to pay that much for it, otherwise, it does not have any inherent value in it.

just to clarify, I have received these bids from doing my own research and contacting people in relevant industries....for funkthis.com this is dance/music/events etc...and eventually down the line the people I originally contacted actually put other people in contact with me.

The domain name is hi profile in my area of the industry in the UK as well, I specialize in websites and promo materials for bands and live events so people do get to hear the name quite often, consequently the actual cold responses have mainly come from their.
