Nice and brandable with several other businesses using that name. Should be good for high XXX to mid X,XXX depending on how quick you want to flip it. Nice gift, I hope you cut him in

Yeah I already promised him half with out knowing anything.. We talked about this for a while now he was telling me how he doesn't want that name any more and I told him not to let it expire I will take it and try selling.... I liked the sound of it so I didn't think much of it.. Today he calls me, "hey lets do this transfer before I forget again." So I did the transfer and did a quick search to see what I can expect if anything and BANG... 3 different businesses , I called him back telling him DUDE I think you might be HAPPY very soon ...

Domain is now in my account, wondering if there is a development idea behind this something I could capitalize on? Or the best way to go about this is to park and sale?

I did a bit of research there are quite few music / dance studios called VibeStudio or combination of the words (Vibe Dance Studio) and so on...

Anyone else mind to shed some light on this domain? I like it for a minimum of 1k but is there more?

Best option to maximize value is hold/park until someone comes calling. If you really want to sell it now, you will have to put together a list of leads, and then email/fax/mail/call them and do it the hard way. Maybe if you get a few interested parties, you can start an auction for it and hope for the best. I don't think development will add any value here.

The fact that other extensions are fully developed doesn't add any value to an intrinsically worthless name.

Developing it might bring some value, but then again, content is what might make it valuable.

Being a gift, one cannot complain, but I suggest developing instead of spending reg fee forever.

That makes no sense...anyone knows that if other extensions are taken that will add value, he has the .COM!! Plus the other extensions are developed. Also there are many similar sites with the words "vibe studio". Your opinion is totally backwards, that is a domain to flip not to develop.

To KING: I think its worth no less then $1,000. But Like INFORG said "Should be good for high XXX to mid X,XXX depending on how quick you want to flip it".

    Nice name and Good Luck.

It's a good name, and there will be plenty of companies with that brand who *may* want it. I wouldn't bother developing at all, the value's all in the name on this one. Find someone called "vibe studio" and sell it to them. Get it over and done with imho.

    Here's how I'd approach it...

    - Build a basic "For sale" page on the domain - just your average "This domain is for sale - please contact Joe Blow at 000-000-0000 or info@example.com to inquire"
    - This creates a "warm and fuzzy" feeling for anybody who tries to go to the site. Sure as heck is more reassuring than seeing a 404 error page for nameservers that go to nowhere, or a PPC page with ads which are meaningless to a potential purchaser.
    - Email, then phone the owners of the TLD's which are taken, and offer it to them. Try to get $1,500 for it.
    - If that fails, list it on sedo, and play the waiting game as you would with any other domain.

The reason why I suggest this approach is because the owners of these names already see the value in the keywords, and inherently, ought to see it in the .com as well.

The key word here, of course, is "ought".

I've had people tell me to screw off for trying to sell them a .com version of a domain they currently own. I've also made sales from it.

If that strategy fails, you've still got a very good domain, which I would hold onto if I were you, if you can't sell it to the people in question.

As I always tell people in respect to cold calling; every time you fail represents a chance you had to succeed. If they buy it, mission accomplished. If they don't, you took your chance to succeed. And I'll bet that's not the first time someone's failed to see the value in a domain. Moving on.

Also, this puts you in a stronger negotiation position down the road. Let's say they start losing traffic in such a way that people say "why don't you get the .com?"

Then they come crawling back to you. And now YOU hold the cards.

So, the approach in this case serves a dual purpose; gives you the chance to make the quick buck right here and now, and failing that, makes them aware of the domain's existence so that when the time comes, they know who to call.
