Country: | HELP! $3000 offer received: FRA(.)MOBI Afternic’s system mailed the offer.
I would like to know your opinion based on many factors.
I regged this one w/ FRANCE in mind but FRA may stand for:
*Federal Railroad Administration, a division of the United States Department of Transportation
*Wireless local loop, also known as fixed radio access
*Forward Rate Agreement
*FRANCE
*Frankfurt International Airport, IATA airport code
*Frankfurt Stock Exchange
*Swedish National Defense Radio Establishment, also known as Försvarets radioanstalt
*Fell Running Association
*Frequency response analysis
*Femoral Ring Allograft
*European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights
*BlackRock Floating Rate Income Strategies Fund, Inc. (FRA) at NYSE
*more…
I need second opinion, and third, and more…
Everyone welcome

Ask about 10k even tho this is still a nice offer but I am sure you can get 10k for it.
Good luck keep us updated!

Professional domainers don't waste time with a very low then hope for a mid-way counter, they start with their best offer(maybe a little less). And when idealists like you guys come out and think every name is worth $10K just because of an initial bid- they cancel there offer for becuase of a rediculous newbie counter. You counter with $10K or $5K and can most surely gaurantee you lose yet another potential sale. It's a good offer and this name is not even worth it- but you want to be greedy, then go right ahead.

1. A 'window shopper', thrill bidding, a kid without the funds etc, meaning that it won't matter what you reply, the sale will not happen. I have had more accepted offers not go through then I have complete. Same @ afternic sedo and moniker.
2. A highly motivated buyer. In this situation it is very unlikely that their first bid will be the maximum they will offer, as any sales platform like afternic, is geared to make it clear to any prospective buyer that the industry is founded on an 'offer/counter system'.
in summary:
I think if the sale breaks down because you counter, it is unlikely to have ever really been a sale.

I've had people offer me a figure - I've accepted - never heard from them again! I've had people offer $100 initially, and go on to pay $2000.
There's nothing idealist about countering a $3k offer with $5k.
BTW, I am a professional domainer - not an effing newbie...

This is an appraisals thread and an I simply disagree with your pricing point of view as they SEEM to come from a newbie. If you've been following the sales of LLL.mobi on sedo, you would know a $3K offer is worth entertaining.

You implied in your earlier post (and again above) that a $5k counter was that of a newbie, and not a professional.
As for my choice of language, you'll see it was self-moderated to the comical 'effing' so as not to offend anyone.
LLL.mobis - yes, $3k is a very good offer, but as I said, each name/buyer/deal is different. This offer is 4-6 times going rate for a decent 3 letter mobi - implying that the offerer is more end user than reseller.
