    High link/Traffic Domain

    sorrry if wrong forum,

Is it worth getting a domain name with no value in the name (infact a hyphen) .com and over 1000 links? Listed in ALexa, but no stats, jus says enter in contact info.

    marketleap found 1800 links

    regged since 98

    overture reveales nothing with/without .com

Found one website with like 30 links to it.

Most websites linking to it are government or canadian scchool districts
    of software dev.

    Description from website

    yahoo listed.

is it worth the reg? Since the domain is WORTHLESS

PS: plz dont post domain if you know it.

It sounds like it's worth the registration. Just make sure you do your research and see if there really are links out there. Marketleap is nortorious at giving inflated numbers in certain cases, especially with hypenated domains. Make sure you check it out, follow the links and see if they exisit.

There's nothing wrong with buying an "ugly" domain if it's going to bring you traffic. Now you have to do your research to make a best guess as to whether it will or not.

    It's always a guess

as to how much traffic a name is getting. Alexa stats can be unreliable as well. It looks like a pretty solid name and is probably getting 100+ hits per day in my estimation. There is no way to know where the traffic is coming from or if it will last at all.

How much you pay depends on how much it is worth to you. If you don't have a specific use for the traffic that can capitalize on the demographic, you should not bother with it.

If you have a use for the traffic, you should know your conversion rates and be able to determine what it is worth to you.

Dr. Who what are you trying to say?

    2gajgops,

The site is linked from very, well non profit or government sites. I have visited (trhough seaches) many sites that link to them and most of the sites have to do with guides on acomplishing buissness to buissness trade and other stuff on that topic.

How whould you capatalize on traffic like that?

ANd since the domain has been not resolving (for at least 30 days) wouldn't the traffic start to drop, and the links start to be deleted? How long (if I don't get a good on topic site up fast) wil the numbers (traffic) last?
