Was I a moron in buying these names? You tell me!

I recently made these two purchases:

1. RiseAndShine.com for $300
and
2. AcidRain.com for $700.

What do you guys think? Was I stupid or savvy?

i'm not sure what you could do with acidrain.com
i wouldn't have paid 700 for that, but it depends.

i would say you got a great deal on the first name
but not the second

riseandshine.com is good. I'm sure there are a lot of businesses named rise and shine, bed and breakfasts, wake up services...etc... but i think you paid to much. personally, i would have only bought it as a drop, with intent to sell at what you bought it for.

acidrain? why.

I like them both. I would not have paid that much for them, but I think you will turn a profit on them, espcially AcidRain.com, especially if you can develop it.

riseandshine.com & acidrain.com are the only two domains I've ever paid money for. And I have yet to sell a domain. I've had acidrain.com for about two days now, and it looks like the traffic is going to peak at about 150 type-ins a day.

I didn't buy acidrain.com for the traffic, or to develop it (although I am currently doing some developing) -- I bought the domain to sell it at a somewhat higher price.

It might be a year or more, but do you think that it would be possible to sell acidrain.com to a business?

I figured that forces of nature make great business names.
Examples:
* Hurricane Electric
* Lightning Audio
* Tornado Development

AcidRain.com is, of course, inferior to hurricane.com, lightning.com and tornado.com. For some reason, acid rain sounds harsher than the other forces of nature. Yet it still seems that "Acid Rain", with its edginess and paradox (acid=death / rain=life), could work for a business that wants to stand out from the crowd. Your thoughts?

Acid rain isn't a force of nature, and has a negative feeling to it as its to do with the effects of pollution.

Still a good name IMHO.
