I have an offer for $500 for this domain. The buyer has already initiated the transaction through escrow.com. All left to do is for me to agree and click send. But, I am having second thoughts. Can someone PLEASE appraise this domain name? Am I selling too low? (By the way, this is my first sale). Thanks!!!!!
Take it and run
Thanks Rockefeller. I REALLY appreciate the reply. I just got a little nervous about it when I saw that the buyer's email address was different in the escrow account than the one he has been communicating to me with. So, I looked up the whois on the .com for the different email address. It turns out to be a domain that's been registered at GoDaddy since 2003. That sent up a red flag because the buyer told me he doesn't know anything about buying a domain name.
I've also talked to him on the phone a few times and he seems legit. Says he's buying the domain for his college age daughter.
So thanks again for your reply. I feel better at least knowing that someone agrees that I'm not selling low.
I'd appreciate any other help.
If that is his first offer I'd ask for more. Maybe ask for $1000, or whatever you're happy with. He may counter with a higher amount than $500, meet your price, or say no - in which case you'd still likely get the $500. Never accept the first offer on an unsolicited enquiry.
Spending $500 on a domain for his college daughter? Sounds like the one about the guy buying a domain for his wife's market in Peru.
It is a decent domain related to travel and the cruise industry.

Hello Hugegrowth. Actually his opening offer was $350 and I countered with $700. We settled on $500. I agree about the domain being decent... it has several possibilities like a cruise forum or a site for people to show off their cruise pics, first hand advice about the best cruises, etc. As I said, this is my first sale so this is a learning experience for me. I would have loved to get $1k but the guy wasn't going to go anywhere near that figure. I'm looking at it like I turned a $10 hand reg into $500, so I feel okay with that. Just hope it's all legit. I will be nervous about it until the escrow transaction is complete and I have the hot cash in my hand.
Thanks for your great input. It is very much appreciated!
