    Job Skinny.( c o m ) -- Has interested buyer

Hi all - I've been out of the domain game for quit a while - are job domains fairly popular now?
I've had a couple of inquiries about Job Skinny.( c o m ) - the latest one yesterday.

Domain has no traffic, and is just over a year old.

I am hoping for some feedback from those of you who are more up to date,
to better help me determine what price
    I should give this person.

    Thank you in advance.

"Skinny" is an older slang term for the low down, the word, the latest in terms of news or what's happening, as give me the skinny on the job market. In other words condense it, make it short, and make it quick.

Odd to see the interest in this but it would be a great retro name and site, something like a Jimmy Olsen type thing from black and white TV shows.

It's reporter's slang and tough-guy like. In that sense, I really like the retro potential, make a site like an older 1940's or 50's pulp magazine along with all the streamlined artwork and black and white photos.

That is what I see in it and perhaps (or not) that is what your potential buyer sees in it.

Difficult to pinpoint a price on this as it would require branding and marketing to revive the word "skinny". But, dammit, I like it for all the above reasons and wish you well with it.

If you are getting multiple offers, I would consider this to be a niche name and in the xxxx range.

Dot Com, thank you very much for your well thought -out reply.

My development idea was for a sort of "inside track" job information site -- one where people would
send in info (the skinny) on jobs they've heard about in their own companies, etc. There's more than to it than that,
but you likely get the idea. I do like your angle on it, as well. In fact, both concepts combined could be quite interesting.

As your user name suggests, it is pure 100% word play.

It has usage in terms of a niche market. Selling the name and interest in it would possibly be very limited. But once branded, everyone would know what and how the word "skinny" means. Just like those by gone days of gum shoe, jeepers, and so on. As a kid growing up watching black and white Superman series on TV, immediately when I saw the word skinny I thought of Jimmy Olsen and the Daily Planet.

You should hold for a decent price even though there is not a great deal of demand or traffic. I can not help but think that any potential buyer has the same ideas playing in their head.

Dot Com, I just Googled the term "the skinny" and it comes up almost 18 million times
-- mostly being used (from what I could see), in the way we're referring to. So while it does evoke the time period and "feel" that you suggest,
it is by no means out of usage (I know you did not say it was).

I am considering just hanging on to it for awhile -- though realistically, I don't know if I'll actually develop it any time soon. Thanks again.

Let them pry it from your hands with a very good $$$$ offer.

    Sounds good, Dot Com.

Thought you'd like to see the logo you inspired with your retro concept: http://jobskinny.com
Still needs work, but I kind of like it. Thanks again.
