LONG NAMES can be easier to remember than you think

    Hi ya's

    i got this name;

    ClassifiedAdsWithPictures.com

its desrciptive alright, but thats its advantage i believe, i keep getting an email asking me to put it up for auction, but i want to use it for my business enterprise. Anyone else feel the same about long names having a better memorability factor than short, quick names? Interesting

Absolutely. I think clear but long names can be much easier to remember than short names with no meaning.

    For example

    FreeWebsiteHosting.Com vs 0g2.net

    facebook.com/DomainBuyer

    Domain name length increase

    hi ya's

a little while ago name length was up't from 'was22' letters to 63 letters' ?? i can't quite remember now but it had to have some meaning surely, the introduction of longer names.

So long names really do have thier place in this business.

DRP, I know lots of long ones have been registered lately.

Can you provide any examples of business actually using long domains?

if i owned "classifiedadswithpictures.com, i would definitely also register a short cut, so users didnt spend 30 seconds tying it in, with frequent misspells.

Like cawp.com. or the like. (like this site! dnforum = domain name forum)

My favorite English domain is 4 words - 17 letters. Hard to forget to.

No, they just know that domains rarely go for more than a buck or two on Ebay

I have 2 really long names which are memorable and product specific. May not be of interest to a reseller but I am confident they will do very well when developed.

Speaking of long (but memorable) names, I've always had a special place in my heart, and in my Afternic auction folio, for
