The primary way I could think of for this would be to develop an informational website and throwing up Adsense. I would say the domain name along is worth less than the registration fee. Unless there is something within this niche with commercial value that I am otherwise not aware of.

I don't see any value here .net hurts it more unless you can find an end user for this it will be extreamy hard to resell even to get your money back.
Sorry maybe try sticking to .coms unless you find something so nice that it doesn't matter that is .net ..
