Hi all,

I am just getting going in this business and have bought a few domains to get my portfolio going. I also downloaded some appraisal software but the appraisals it comes up with seem to be a bit, erm, ambitious to say the least! Can anyone give me opinions on these......

Hi Tamas, and welcome to the forum. These appraisals were done using an appraisal tool that was designed by member(mindful) and enhanced by member (mudfence) It was designed to provide a ballpark figure for today's market. The figures are subjective and may not reflect what you could sell your domain names for if you received an offer from a motivated buyer.

And yes, these evaluations here will seem absurd in comparison to the figures you received using the software you downloaded. I'm guessing the software gave you around $3000 for buy-flowers.com? It is most likely the appraisal software that is outputing absurd evaluations.

Hi all,

Thanks for the advice! One question about my-ferrari.net. I have contacted lawyers and they all say its perfectly legal to have such a site as you cannot trademark the word ferrari as the company did not make it up - it is a surname. Would that make it worth something?

erm..thanks for the list. I already checked that link in my research and couldnt find any trademarks relating to "my ferrari". As you can see from the list there are countless businesses that use the word ferrari that have that as part of their trademark. As far as I am aware though there will be no trademark for the word ferrari on its own. Thats like saying that the name Smith can be trademarked to stop anyone else from using it.

I only mentioned the trade mark issue because weather or not there is one, the chance that there is would negatively effect the value.

My sence tells me that unless your name is Tamas Ferrari, why bother testing the F1 masters.

Go to www.nissan.com , this guy's last name was Nissan and he used to sell computers from this site. Interesting stuff.
