Lightbulb OLED(.)JP - Organic Light Emitting Diodes

This domain may make a good impact in the OLED TVs market in the future. There are quite a few videos also present on YouTube over this new technology.

Search google to get further information over the term 'OLED' and new emerging Japanese technology. Toshiba has recently announced to release its early versions in 2009. Oled(.)com will certainly also be popular but should keep in mind early versions of the technology will be released first in Japan.

    Thank you for your time.

    Very nice!
btw only close to a million .jp names registered, I think judging by the technological development in Japan this extension should be bigger!
Are non jp residents allowed to register it?

It seems like that. There are no restrictions explained on JP-Domains for non-Japanese individuals also the domain was registered at Enom.

I've seen lots of premium english .jp names still available (that, or EuroDNS is messed up) to reg. That leads me to figure that Japanese people don't really use English names with .jp much.

Can anyone from Japan confirm this?

actually, there are some reasons why premium English .jp domains are still exsiting.

    1. Japanese prefer to use singular and plurals are not desired
    2. Japanese companies usually have 3 acronyms
    3. There is not much of a demand for domaining
    4. blogs are prefered
    5. If you check GoDaddy or Enom, they will say its available but its not.
    6. other reasons unknown

But there are some good domains available. Godaddy and other Western domain searches are not up-to-date so even if you check them, they will either state that they are available (when they are not) or they are not available (when they are).

I recommend you checking with the actual jp whois since it is 100% accurate:

Thanks for the info MobileDesigner. I do not intend regging any .jp names, but was just curious about the situation there.

one needs to seriously check the Japanese trends before regging. I got a 3-letter domain and get 10,000 uniques a month pulling in $300/month. The original sns company uses 4-letters for this name but its more known as a 3-letter .jp, which I got. Not even trademarked! I dont know if anyone from this forum buy it from me since its a .jp and one must know Japanese mobile affiliates.

Would you buy wvw.OreNoOna.com? (means "my girl" in Japanese)? would do well if it were wvw.MyGirl.com. In this case, IDNs work best.

Just do some research on the trends.
