Question Over 1 Million searches on Overture. Appraise please.

    Hi,

    IncredibleHair.com

There are over 1 Million searchs related to hair in the first three Overture catagories alone.

As far as selling retail, it seems like I should be able to find a company related to Hair Style, Hair Cut, or even Hair Loss, etc.

For example Bosley Medical for hair loss. Or even someone like Magic Cuts for hair cutting. These are just two examples of huge companies who perhaps would see the profitability in being branded with the results they provide (in this case, incredible hair).

Not to mention all the other possibilities in the hair industry. Even a shampoo company perhaps.

Any comments on this name and a value?

    Cheers,
    ezinestein

I'm just hinting that the title of your thread is a bit misleading. As for an appraisal I would value this domain at reg fee based on 1k google results and 0 overture.

BTW: $600 ~ $800 is based upon a developed site

    Thanks.

Thanks for your appraisal Dr. Who.

I'm looking for appraisals for the name only. Retail.

For example, the first four companies on overture that are paying for the keywords "Hair Loss", are all paying over $3.60 per click. Per Click.

Google Adwords says that "Hair Loss" will receive roughly 53 clicks per day. At $3.60 clicks per day, each of these four companies alone are paying almost $200 daily for visits. And they're only visits.

    That's a $6,000 monthly expediture. $72,000 yearly.

And by-the-way, the first company has the domain name; getgoodhair.com. I like incrediblehair.com even better as it's only two words.

    Thanks,
    ezinestein

    Which means nothing.
You still have to pay more in order to be better listed in the ad section.
Btw, at Google, the second listed in regular listing for the word "hair" is tlhs.org ! (the long hair site ).
That only proves the value of non-type-in name. Everything is OK, if you know how to put content in a right way.

2004HairStyle.com is available. Searches are to begin.

    Options,

Of course it means something. Just not what you thought.

I wasn’t talking about rank. I was saying that the company who owned the name getgoodhair.com was paying $3.50 per click. Meaning they are spending money. And they are paying top dollar to be listed first.

They are using the domain name: getgoodhair.com. And my point had nothing to do with rank. It had everything to do with the possibility of this company liking incrediblehair.com even better or even just enough to shell out a few bucks.

I guess when we try to make someone else wrong; we’re even willing to distort what we read into something that we can make a point with.

I see Adwords.google down at the moment.
Never mind, last time I checked, one click at Google in ads section for the word "mesothelioma" was paid US$50 .

So, I used the same logic; I offered the name to some companies named something like ClarksAndZwieckenstein.com.
    To a lot of them.
I received only two answers with slight interest in ads (I put ads as an option).

    So, which one is better?
    GoTo.com or Overture.com?

I agree with 'Alldig ... there are ZERO results for "Incredible Hair" at Overture: http://overture.com/d/USm/adcenter/tools/index.jhtml#

and then go to "Term Suggestion Tool".
    Sorry.
    Good Luck.

    $50

There are all too many prefixes that could be added in front of the word hair. This one isn't any better than any other.

Plus I agree that it is extremely misleading to claim millions of searches on Overture when there are actually none at all. There's no reason to try to decieve us like that, we aren;t stupid.

I hate BS headings on posts ... and like even less BS rationalization of the potential value of a name. But hey ... good luck.

That, too! It's NOT good for the site's credibility.
    Good Luck.
