Question Please Appriase - Multiple WiMax Domain Names - WiMax-Network.com plus Much More

    Hi Everyone,

I need some appraisals please. Some of these names are getting serious hits, but I am concerned about what sort of offers I should consider or not consider. WiMAX Technology is the new Technology they are hoping to convert to in 2007 that has speeds which are much higher than our current Wi-Fi Networks. Please let me know what you think these names are worth. I am thinking I should hold them until the network goes fully live, but then again someone may be starting a business and needs it sooner. Please apparise any or all of the names you like. I know Hypens lower the value of a name, but you never know I guess.

    Names with Hypens:

    WiMax-Network.com
    WiMax-Network.us
    WiMax-Network.biz
    WiMax-Network.info
    WiMax-Network.co.uk
    WiMax-Mobile.biz
    WiMax-Mobile.info
    WiMax-Mobile.co.uk
    WiMax-Phones.biz

No Hypens and also Germany ".de" names:

    WiMaxOnline.us
    WiMaxGermany.de
    WiMaxDeutschland.de
    WimaxMobile.de
    WiMaxPhones.de

Thanks everyone for any input and/or guidance you could share with me.

    Hi jmh04,

I think that your Wimax related names are not quite "ripe" yet for sale. I own several myself (WimaxBusiness.com, WimaxGermany.com, WimaxDeutschland.com, WimaxCellular.com, EuropeWimax, WimaxFone.com, among others) and I am just now beginning to get some nibbles in the low $xxx range... I would plan on holding for at least 2-3 more years to see if the technology matures. If it becomes the new standard, I think you should see a nice return on your non-hyphen names in the mid-$xxxx range. Just my two-cents worth... (Also, FYI in case you missed it, Singapore just committed to rolling out a nationwide Wimax program).

Re: Please Appriase - Multiple WiMax Domain Names - WiMax-Network.com plus Much More

I own a wireless business, not wi-fi but fixed wireless, similar to same technology as wimax, we use the 5 GHz unlicesed spectrum.

I also own some WiMax domains:
    WiMaxblog.eu, WiMaxcalendar.com, WiMaxradios.eu, WiMaxswitch.net, WiMaxswitch.com.

WiMax is an interesting technology, however as mentioned above it is not ready for prime time. The technology is currently being utilized in the US, but for someone to invest, it is very shakey. The US has alotted unlicensed experimental spectum for the WiMax radios.

From my understanding at the end of this year the US has the option of reallocating that spectrum. If they do not agree, all the current WiMax deployments go kaput...

This does not mean that the technology is going away, but they way that they deliver it could go away. If this would occur it would mean that the WiMax radio vendors would have to redesign their radios for another frequency, if they were to used the unlicensed frequency.

The main advantage of Wimax is that it can cover a much larger area than Wifi. I guess it is the technology being used by the company Now (www.now.com) to offer wireless internet access to some areas of London. I own wimaxmobiles.com that I registered few years ago.

    "Wi" vs WiFi or WiMax

Hey - you might want to consider the "Wi" prefix vice the more specific WiFi or WiMax. "Wi" can still apply irrespective of which direction wireless takes...

There are many companies already using Wi and I recently sold a Wi name for $xxxxx.00.

WiFi, WiMax, Wibro, Wireless - they're all "Wi"

    Good luck.

Thank you. I really appreciate the advice. It has been a slow time for domain names, however I have still hung on to these and am hoping for an offer to sell.

Thanks again for taking the time to respond and the guidance on these names. Hopefully, I will find a "Wi" end user as well.

Hello. Thanks for asking. None yet ... Hoping to hear something soon. I let go of the ones that were "lower" quality. Hoping to hear something on the better ones. It has been slow on offers for any of my domains. Not sure if others are feeling the same way.
