Thanks for your vote Syd - that was my original favorite but as you can see it is getting crushed! This group has no mercy around hereOriginally posted by Syd
DotBeat.com is IMHO the pick of the bunch.

I like DNjournal also. Although DomainGazette is two complete words, not an acronym constituent. Practice what we preach?
Maybe the subscription will be in DNF bucks!
Funny you should mention that. The idea of giving DNF Bucks their first use outside the Forum did cross my mind. However since it will be a free site, not sure how I would do that!Originally posted by DNFBuckBroker

This Forum has been such a help to me that I will definitely have a prominent link to it and try to find some ways to repay the debt I owe for the education I've gained here.

Hi Duke!
DNJournal.com is catchy. It's the only one I could remember exactly without going back to the list.
It really stands out as the best by miles IMHO. Also, the .com extension still seems to be the best option, especially for names of more than two syllables.
Can't wait to see the site!
Thanks for the comments Manic - looks like your viewpoint is the majority view. DNJournal & DomainGazette have 70% of the vote between them. My early choice was not even in the running. Glad I had the forum to do some market research and settle on a name that is pleasing to the largest number of people. I will go with the poll results.
Voting will close later today. I will then share some more information on what I plan for the site and invite input from members as to features they would like to see included.

Ok - time to make this official. DNJournal.com was the clear cut winner and will be the name of a new domain name news magazine appearing soon on a computer screen near you. Thanks for your participation and saving me from making a choice that apparently would not have been too popular!
Here is the time frame I hope to follow. I am currently working on a complete redesign of my music web site. Since that pays most the bills it is the current top priority. Should have it done in a week or two (have to code hundreds of items for a new shopping cart system to replace one I am dumping).
I will then start on Domain Name Journal. Since I already have the basic template I can probably put a preview site online within 4 weeks so you can see what it will look like. My goal is to then fill it with articles and interesting comment to debut in its fully finished form by New Year's Day.
I will be looking for volunteer columnists to cover several beats, including one specialist for each major TLD including the new ones. I plan to write a regular featured personality profile on a domain name business figure - complete with photo and real name is we can get them to step forward!
I would like to get the preview site up so the people I approach will be able to see the quality of format their work will be presented in - before making a comittment. Having already seen the way the site will look I think I can say with confidence that you will be impressed.
If you have features or ideas you would like to see incorporated feel free to mail your suggestions to editor@dnjournal.com
Endless thank yous to Domain Name Forum for letting me hatch this idea here and research the name with your huge audience. I am in your debt (though as a journalist I will have to be objective and point out how much Greg has been skimming from the till)![]()
This site is a tremendous resource for Domain Name enthusiasts and one that will only become more valuable as time goes on and the word spreads (or is there really anyone left who doesn't already know about it)! Thanks again to all!

I see 48 votes only. Is this indicative of future subscription levels? Duke, you need to do some ceremonial cape flips and conjure some more future readers man!
Do you have some sort of target publication start-date and how can we help, Duke?
Lots of voter apathy here.Originally posted by IPatlas

I commented on that voting percentage earlier (only about 10% of viewers). Simply Disgraceful! I think we can live up to that standard![]()
