Been out of the domain game for a little bit...

What do you all think Texts.com is worth?

Possible uses include SMS or Textbooks.
Text.com sold for $300k in 2007 at a live auction.

Nice name...i'll come out with the first appraisal. I am going to have to say that Text.com would be worth more than the plural. That being said...i still think it's a mid $xx,xxx name. IMO

Text.com is just about ringtones. Its not really a fully developed site.

Develop it, and build up a base of users. The potential has no limit
for this domain.

I do see a deep-pockted reseller paying mid to high $xx,xxx for it.

I'd personally recommend proactively contacting all the world's cellphone suppliers, and service and content suppliers, as in their hands this could be marketed in their interest. A great platform to launch a new technologu within this niche or some new invention which ties up cellphones with webbrowsers more effectively. In this situation, a decent $xxx,xxx is likely.

Vodaphone spent something like 17 billion on a 3G licence but to make them spend 7 figures on this, you may need to create some great content and start building up a database.

Resseler $15,000 + end user xxx,xxx i think it could be the ultimate site for free text messages and be affiliated with phone companies but it needs alot of work good luck with it .

Its not ONLY suitable for a phone/telecoms related site BUT its by far the most lucrative industry given the alternatives.

The telecom industry is one of the most cash rich and high flying sectors anyway. This is a premium name within that space.

Stick this on any premium action place where the top domainers gather and you will then see where the bids get to.

but in general and rough value its worth low/mid $xx,xxx and up

I have to say even without a big user database the domain alone would be worth atleast a 100k to me if I was the owner even if selling to a reseller.

Texts.com is a 5 letter highly brandable .com with almost a 10 year registration history. The current search marketing it has is lacking. It has #1 rank for
" international texts" which is only 3,600 monthly search volume but its counterpart "international sms" it is ranked #6 and that has a monthly search volume of
74,000. Also see the list at the end of my reply

If the higher volume search terms had better ranking then the amount of traffic could increase exponential and bring the alexa ranking down from its
current 1.5 million and also increase the user database like the other repliers said.

In my opinion this websites current value is past the xx,xxx mark. The biggest factor being its brandability in the huge over 1 billion dollar cellphone industry.
The second factor is the already foot holded potential for organic search engine marketing. Also the adwords cpc is relatively low with a high volume monthly search.
If the website/brand had a bigger presence on the web I could see it being valued or sold for atleast half a million dollars
