You may have TM problems with TldsRus b/c it sounds alot like "ToysRus." The ToysRus company may try to sue you for Cybersquatting, TM infringement, or TM dilution. They would probably have the strongest argument for TM dilution.

The first step that ToysRus would take would be the old "Cease and Desist" Letter.

This is something to consider. Take care

Hardly anyone knows what "TLDs" means, and it's clear that you are little fuzzy on the concept as well. People can't register Top Level Domains (.com, .us). They can only buy second level domains (something.com, name.us). So TLDsRUs.com doesn't make any sense.

Add that in with the likely TM violation for the R Us part and you've got a $0 name on your hand. Sorry.

Thank you for discussion on "Rus". It gave me an opportunity to read about TM dilution when I looked at an article on search at google.com.
Every so often, I see an expired name using "rus" but have passed since I vaguely recalled some C&D order.

I certainly have unknowingly reg'd a TM and do not renew; and should the owner ask for it, I will gladly hand over. (Well of course, I would make sure its not a TM that implies to use first and etc.)

re: Appraisal, I will have to agree there is no value.

Further from the discussion, I picked up tlds.org from Greg's outstanding auction this past Saturday.

namedropper, I am aware of the meaning of both TLD and gTLD as well you are. Extrapolating what you're saying, which is of course corrrect, the idea behind the domain was e.g. '.coms are us' or '.nets are us' which in my view, obviates your comment when you think of it. I must agree though that the 'r us part negates the value to a liablity and thus I guess I should be looking for someone to give it to and pay them for taking it off my hands.

    Thanks
