Question Two word domain appraisal

I know the one word domains are really hard to come by. Two word domains seem to fringe on no value. I guess if it is generic enough and descriptive. I have several industrial two word domains that I am using and am not selling.

But this leads to a question...

How can I determine a valuable name from junk, in the two word category?

Is "CarSales.com" valuable becouse of the "Car " or the "Sales".
If "Car" shows up big at Overture but "Car Sales" is minimal, then is it much devaluated by this, or does the generic term as a whole give it value.

I do not own this, it is just an example to illistrate my question.
As I seek out new names, I find I know little about the industry, and how to select good ones. Just trying to learn more.
I am a newbie here and do appreciate any constructive feedback.

Thanks a bunch !

Two words can be valueable. The criteria I use is whether or not the EXACT term is a common one.

OnlinePizza in any TLD is crap. It doesnot work.

StockTrader is a great name ! You hear the term stoch trader often (I owned Stocktrader.org and sold it for one grand).

HappyBirthday would be good too.

Anyway, that is how I determine relative worth with two words.

Don't make the mistake of emptying your bank account by registering two-word dot-coms as you find them - there are thousands available, and you'll be broke befor you register a good one.

Learn by looking at the appraisals, and PM trusted members as you find them, and ask their opinion.

Also, use common sense.

Thanks

I understand.

I am currently looking at a name that is available that is like
www.*******Sales.com
as a speculation.

The first term is pretty popular search word (50k+ by overture),
it is product - activity specific but still generic.

But when I search Overture by both words together they produce only a few hundred searches total per month.

Any related company can use this,
but then again, as a newbie, I dont want to buy a dog.

Generally I have built a cluster of names related to the industry to which I am employed, and am developing some of them. After discovering this forum, and reading the threads, I now look at them in a different light.

Thanks again
