    tsuccess,

If you really want to get as accurate and honest data for a name as possible... then create a thread with a "poll" option that has a wide range of options. That way people can enter their valuations anonymously and there will be less bias for higher valuations (by people who do not want to seem too harsh... of whom there are many on this board) and less bias for lower valuations (by people who enjoy trashing other folks, of whom there are few on this board... and Duke is certainly not one). So... if you want the best market data... try a poll... perhaps with a non-linear range like this...

    $0-$50
    $50-$100
    $100-$250
    $250-$500
    $500-$1,000
    $1,000-$2,000
    $2,000-$5,000
    over $5,000

I did this for one of my domains... got over 20 responses... targeted the price for around the median response.. .and then sold it (over $2,000)...

If you ask for advice and then call the people who give advice stupid... well... If you already know the answer, why ask?

    Best wishes.

As usual, Domebase is the voice of reason amidst all of the chaos. It is human nature to be defensive when you think someone is trying to devalue something you hold dear. That usually escalates into a flame war.

I do not set out to trash people's names for no reason. If I feel a name has little or no value I am doing you no good whatsoever by telling you otherwise - just because that is what you want to hear. I bought some bad names when I started out. Fortunately people were honest enough to tell me so I didn't keep making the same mistakes.

It's not that WhiteHouseUSA.com is a terrible name (I still have many early regs that are worse and they will not be renewed) - it is just a name with no inherent resale value. There is no way I can give you an honest opinion by saying anything else. By all means get lots of other opinions - a poll is a great way to do it. But if you keep ignoring what every single person who addresses your question tells you, you are wasting your time and everyone else's.

I dont see any value in the name really ...or if some you might get lucky and get few hundreds if someone likes it... I am too optimistic with many of my names and maybe never sell some as turn down offers that many people might have accepted....I have dropped atleast 300 names since I got into this that I consider my learning mistakes ...and I still do make them as I am no pro at all...listen to the opinions of people that have sold loads of names and dont get angry if they try to give you an honest opinion....

No one mentioned it in the entire post, so i am

I heard about a guy that was at his company using the computer, and accidently typed .com instead of .gov and was on the website no more then 4 seconds, and clicked off. The management found out and ended up firing the guy, when it was apparent he wasn't trying to be on the sight. Poor guy.

    Holy COW! I registetered:

    WHITEHOUSEUS.COM

That's gotta be worth at least $100,101, right (it is 1 less letter than WHITEHOUSEUSA.COM )?

I agree with others on this board, WHITEHOUSEUSA.COM is worth about $5-$10.

Glad they did that - at least now we won't have to worry about porn showing up on it.
