I saw that listed at pool as well, and interestingly enough heard an exec from .mobi quote 654.mobi (another domain for sale by the same guy for 150k) as an example of value, but basically this guy is dreaming at this stage, possibly for ever!

hehe, its worth whatever someones willing to pay for it, and theres an idiot on every street corner![]()
saw those listings as well.. its someone from the forums: tekz999
I dont know if its just dreaming or what, but a lot of people list $500,000 and $250,000 prices on ebay for random three letter domains. the idea a lot of them have in their head is to put a ridiculous price like $150k and have people email them lowball offers and accept the first "lowball offer" (which would be pretty high because how low can you lowball if the listing says $150k)
there is a couple obvious problems with selling this way..
1.) it makes you seem desperate and suspicious when you quickly accept an offer of 10k when the original listing quotes $150k
2.) the buyer will question the value of the sale once youve agreed to drop the price 10 times lower than it originally was listed.
3.) and perhaps most obvious of all: its foolish to think your going to trick somebody into paying 100k on the internet with somthing as trivial as domain names.. you might be able to trick someone into paying $5,000 or $500 or $1,000.. but its pretty unlikely your going to find a sucker that wires you 100k just because he thinks he found a new niche.
4.) it just scares the shit out of real buyers that are actually interested, makes the seller seem extremely unstable and out of his friggin mind... people that are actually interested in spending top dollar on said domain will change their mind once they see its listed for 10 times what ANYONE would pay..
I'm sorry it, was joke, I delete the message and the quote.
My quoted friend, real life person, was car dealer. That phrase was really, really his motto. That way, even when a bad deal was made, like paying too much for a car, it had always the hope to find someone willing to buy at higher price.
I also use to quote sky rocket price once in a while, specially, when I want a domain too much, regardless it real value.

Hey tekz, I wasn't trying to insult you or anything. I'm just a newbie asking newbie questions. I have a few .mobis myself...
Same for me, I apologize if my comment was taken bad, it was not intended to insult you.
