    Apotheek.mobi sold for $6,500

    Just saw this at Afternic:

    Apotheek.mobi sold for $6500.

I checked Babelfish, and it means 'pharmacy' in Dutch. Someone really wanted that one. Good sign for the value of .mobi's, if its a reputable buyer, and not just someone selling prescription medications to questionable patients.

    Re: Apotheek.mobi sold for $6,500

I saw that sale and smiled a bit . I've already sold off 3 of my Mobi's to pay for the other 40 or so that I have. Anything that I sell from this point forward is profit.

IMO, this is the position most Mobi supporters should take. As long as your net investment is 0 or less then it doesn't really matter what happens in the Mobi space. Yes it would be great if Mobi turns out to be "the next big thing", but at least you won't be left holding the bag if it fails..

You eliminate the risk, but there's always the opportunity costs.

They also bought this one two weeks earlier: Dokter.mobi (Dutch for Doctor)

And placed a bid on doctors.md almost a year ago: click link

As you can see in the whois Apotheek.mobi is still in escrow, so the sale is still not completed.

These sales are good for .mobi in The Netherlands and Belgium!

And about the seller, we all know him, he made an investment in dotmobi that will not be coverd by these 2 sales...
