If you are new to domains and looking to buy, sell and learn about domains then you have come to the right place. DNForum is the largest domain name community on the internet and continues to grow every day. There are over 105,000 domainers on DNForum doing everything from buying domains, selling domains, learning about domains and discussing domains. Take a minute and Register.
Register Today on DNForum IT'S FREE!I've been reading some of the .mobi posts and, believe me, I'm not looking to start a flame war, but I really want some hard information on the TLD.
First, how is a .mobi site different, or supposed to be different, from a .com or other .TLD? I read somewhere that any names bought in .mobi should be quite short, as their use will appeal particularly to people used to texting. Is this so? The TLD itself is longer than .com, .net, .org and most others. Would it not have been better to have a .mo TLD? Or perhaps there is already one for somewhere in the world.
Anyway, I'd be interested to hear views on the validity of looking for the shortest .mobi names possible. Is there sense in this, or really no point at all?

.asia is the new .mobi
everything that you have read about .mobi was all propaganda...
it was necessary to sell the dream.

Don't think that is necessarily so. Started buying .mobi's earlier this year. Already had a couple of requests to sell (I don't have them up for sale -yet)
I know Linkshare is working on .mobi advertising & Google already has it. There seems to be interest in .mobi's in some industries. Think of the most reasons people would look for a .mobi & that's where the potential will be----like driving in their car looking for something.
hi there!
If I could just distance myself from my dotmobi robot side for a bit, I'd say:
For best chances, anything mobile will be hot.
Combine that with the exclusive distributorship nature of a commodity/trade called "domaining" = DNForum .mobi section
You made it here!
Goodluck to Everyone
Kind Regards,
Yelo
