But now you killed the tremendous potential of this two-word, hyphenated, IDN mobi domain by splitting the keyword!
I think

I'm buying credit, banking, loan, insurance related generics in .com, .net, .org with high search volumes/traffic. Will consider typos too! - PLEASE PM with name, info, & asking price!
Lookout indeed.
How many of you, especially whose mother tongue is not English, will be going to your wap browsers (the majority of the worlds over 2.2 billion handsets still have wap 1.0), and enter mobileapp.espn.go.com to go to the ESPN mobile website? (Sorry Esso, I know 3776 could also represent your site, but I'm pissed off that you keep raising gas prices)
* That's 32 separate input clicks just to get the url into your phone (.com is common to all)
* shame on you if you make a mistake and have to re-enter some of the info
* and who, and by nature of what advertising prompts, will enter .mobi, versus .com?
Why not just go to your wap browser and enter the dial pad numeric equivalent of say ESPN? Its simple: E = 3, S = 7, P = 7 and N = 6. 32 input clicks are reduced to just 9 inputs.
Give it a try. Enter www.3776.com. You will go to a mobile friendly site. Please demonstrate how .mobi will improve this process. More importantly, can you .mobi supporters justify the prices that will be paid?
And Branding? Glad you mentioned it. 3776.com:
* is the same in most languages around the world. Little need for pesky translation services and worrying if it means something nasty in another language
* is the same on most cell phone dial pads around the world
* is carrier agnostic - accessible from Boston to Beijing
* is handset/cell phone model agnostic in most cases
FYI- The numeric equivalents of most, if not all, of the .mobis mentioned here are all gone. They were gotten for reg fees...

number domains are nice, but um.. no, i dont agree with the numbers-that-spell things theory.
yep i said it..
in fact, i had to dial a few of these "numbers that spell things" a couple times when i had a Blackberry phone with a qwerty keyboard.. you know, the ol 1-800-whatever
i couldnt figure it out... had to hold a normal phone in my hand...
this sorta 1-800-word/www.numericwords.com stuff was great prior to the DE-standardization of phone pads.... but it cant be a standard when phone pads are no longer all the same... but it CAN be very confusing.
that said.. i do have hundreds of NNNN.mobi domains......but not because they "spell anything."
1. Qwerty represents a miniscule % of the world hand set market
2. Yes, bet the farm on them![]()
3. Yes, 3776 is 3776... Until it gets provisioned to ....
4. Over 144 possible combinations that represent my potential "prospects"
Cheers,
I can only wish you well with them.
Cheers,

I can see acquiring the numeric equivalent of the .com just because i understand what you're saying... most handsets dont have qwerty keyboards, but some do.. and for that reason alone, i just cant see advertising the numeric equivalent of a .com or .whatever without the sentence "3776.com on your qwerty handset" or something similar...
My phone has QWERTY
Most phones are coming out now with the "T9" feature, which automatically tunes into the WORD your are typing via the numbers.
As you type 5683 the phone reduces the possible word combinations of the numberical letter sets and displays the most probably outcome as you hit each additional number... the result is that the word "LOVE" usually appears by the 3rd digit you type.
Pretty cool.
This feature alone is sure to help cellphones along the path to faster and better typing. That and the fact that I believe that we will start seeing more and more QWERTY phones on the market including the new all screen/no button virtual keyboards hitting the European and asian markets right now. Combo PDA/Cellphone features that will allow you to "type" on your phone pad via a virtual QWERTY... just like GoPC and UMPC technologies do today via the Origami interface.
It's a brave new World... the only real question is whether or not MOBI will be the standard?
There's a large group pf people that think it will be... including the MOBI backers like Motorola, Google, TMobile and many more like them that are not only vested but in a position to ENSURE their technology and services promote their own growth and the growth of MOBI.
Deck is stacked... no question about it.
GoPC
Interesting list, i think they will hit the million dollar mark.
