    they have different functions, .tel is more a voip address (if you want to call someone over the internet you will type their .tel address, example: tony.tel), .mobi is more for mobile commerce and mobile internet (example: google.mobi).

    mobi has full commercial abilities (i.e. MP3 sales, virtual banking, free trials, stock market, games)
    tel has just communication use (I see no money there except hotlines and voip)
