    nice one from down under

    Keeping things OBJECTIVE,
i note http://mobile.msn.com/pc/en-us/mobileweb.aspx for US users at present. In fact, they wish for you to even put in your phone to become your default? seems that goes to make and model number argument for phones, no? Some I tried said "not available" and coached me how to type in the url myself.

It seems to point to the fact that mobile web is in such infancy that Big Business is in the process of development, then there's advertising and the whole USA has to catch up thing, etc.

That's exactly what .mobi needs, is for these .mobi names to be shown in print to more eyeballs. The more eyeballs that see .mobi, the more mindshare the extension will get. Big difference from .biz and .info, is that .mobi is going to be getting massive marketing for huge, high traffic mobile sites by Fortune 500 companies.

well the arguments have chronologically moved to "well companies still haven't promoted it", i wonder what the haters will say now...

(maybe, 'well it's only 1 company', but what a company it is)

Mobi Boom !! It will happen ... and this is just a prime example

Development takes time.... and Quality Development takes alot of time, money and Planning...

All big companies want to get it right and its exactly whats going on right now.....Careful Planning and development BEFORE any advertisements

Every day, there is Forward Movement with the dotMobies, drip by drip a new company intros the MOBI... don't see this happening with the likes of .net, .org, .cc, or even the highly Overrated .tv

This is just the tip of the Iceburg...

IMHO .Mobi developed sites will grow 10 times over this time next year... Just my personal opinion here

Re: ***MSN promotes MOBI in Australia***

    Absolutely agree...

There are things right now that are simply not possible. Search & Find is one of them. No industry standards around Location Based Search (LBS) mean the networks have all developed proprietary technologies and need to interface to allow a consistent service to consumers.

This will happen and standards will be in place with the aid of organisations such as dotMobi, WWC & the many steering groups that are already discussing these issues.

In less than a year from now we'll all be using mobile internet for a plethora of reasons. Guys like us (that's you if you're a mobi-man) have already thought of many of those reasons and I wish you all the very best of success...
