IMHO the pair NorthIsland.mobi and SouthIsland.mobi is an inexpensive equivalent for the reserved name NewZealand.mobi, which is expected to be offered at a dear price:

North Island and South Island are two main parts of New Zealand, which is in fact located on these two islands. More info in Wikipedia:

Thus, NorthIsland.mobi and SouthIsland.mobi, as a pair, could be an equivalent for NewZealand.mobi, that is, an inexpensive alternative for the one who would consider buying the reserved NewZealand.mobi and might be offered a high price by the owner of that domain, that is mTLD. Plus, there are many other North and South Islands in the world, and some of them may be attractive resorts or recreation places, like the North Island in Seychelles mentionerd in the beginning of this thread. Just do a Gogle search.
