I had to call them 3 - 4 times just to have my account activated. Then it took about 30 minutes after they confirm via the phone for me to be able to use the web to register my domains.
However the biggest problem is I couldn't checkout. It kept saying some weird error message like "customer id not found" or such. I wasted 2 hours with them. Finally I used Moniker, even though they are more expensive.

Lost 2 good names during those 2 hours.

I had this with .in, the rick is to setup an account before you want the domains. You can't expect them to accept everyone/anyone. Especially instantly.

Where do you go to to set up the cheapest accounts with these guys (ResellerClub)? Is it by invitiation only?

You'll need to make an initial deposit of 200 before your account can be activated, but then you can withdraw it.
