Just this week, Brooke Filip used her cell phone to comparison shop for a new laptop while waiting her turn at the doctor's office.

She also used her Sanyo flip phone to buy tickets to the Apple Cup.

"It's so cool, you'll get addicted," said Filip, who works in Bellevue as a marketing consultant. "I think it'll be huge.

"People our age are constantly on their phone -- it's a lifeline. I'm thinking about shoes but I haven't done that yet."

Filip, 24, falls right into the target age group for companies such as Seattle-based mPoria Inc., which help retailers build mobile commerce sites for cell phones. (Such sites usually end in ".mobi" instead of ".com.")
