You know... this is the mobi HATERS thread... it occurs to me that if we all just leave these two, there won't be anyone to talk to except themselves... which they apparently seem comfortable with. Since all they do is

I have nothing whatsoever against mobile/cellphone enabled content.

What you fail to see is that .mobi as a TLD is nothing but an excuse for a Registry to collect fees for an unnecessary namespace.

Web sites nowdays are capable to redirect browsers to appropriate content, based on the characteristics of the device accessing them.

FYI: DotMobi registry is a non-profit organization.

.mobi sounds like Moby and boy do I hate his music. I hate .mobi because I hate it (the way it sounds, looks and smells) not because I don't have a .mobi.

i dont understand what dot mobi haters are so upset about, the way i look at it is for every dollar spent on a dot mobi there is less money to compete with me in the domain market. while i beleive good keywords will do well, there are millions being spent on names in dot mobi, which means they will have less to compete in the dot com market, kinda like the big hype around 4 letter dot coms that dont mean anything like qzvx every dollar spent on a useless name is a dollar less in a domainers hand that wants the domain you want

For that matter, its not just IDNs, vast majority of .coms that are bulging the portfolios of most .mobi haters are crap and not even worth peeing over....for those who have doubts about this, go take a good hard look at all those shi**y .coms listed in the Sales section.

I don't know now. It's like the bad smell went away after today's actions. I did take a shower so it might've helped too.
