Wapedia was started in August 2004.
Interestingly Wapedia.org now redirects to Wapedia.mobi
Wapedia.mobi is the stand alone site.
The .com equivalent is owned by Frank Schilling, and of course a parked page. So the rapid rise of this .mobi website is indeed exciting and entirely on merit.
It is optimized for google and has much backlicks. Thats why it returns a lot in the serps of mobile and PC searches. Thats the reason for the high Alexa ranking...
Mobile visits dont count for Alexa rankring. So it quite unique to get such a high ranking.
