to be fair, i think (not 100% sure) ive delt with pratik in the past on NP, had no issues so can't complain!

Also with regards to parked names, there are major seasonality issues and depending on which market the domain is in, the average cpc's have dropped dramatically for some markets, same with competitions and content network/partner network advertising which means less payout!! Credit crunch would be to blame if the clicks are the same!

Nope, still absolutely no communication from Prateek and attempts to get a resolution going (he made a proposal many months ago) have failed.

For $8k you could fly out, pay him a visit, take care of business, and pay a few bribes.

Just a thought...

Im back.

Now jsut to let you know why the resolution failed, I had a thorough discussion with Chirag. I even saw the referrer stats. As it turns out all traffic was in fact type-in. He assured me that he never did anything illegal with the domain. All traffic was 100% natural.

Now I don't know why what happened happened. Maybe the traffic was seasonal. Maybe there was just some random person wisiting this domain and clicking. Or maybe there is just something wrong with DSs claim that the traffic was fraudulent. All I know is that I can trust Chirag on this. I have myself dealt with him quite a few times and never had any issues. I guess Steen you were just unlucky. And being in India I have no idea how anyone could click and generate 30-40$ a click. The clicks have originated from USA thats for sure.

Now Steen, if you remember I had offered you a doman for resoultion. This is the best I could do at that time. You rejected it and guess what the domain's earnings jumped 2.5 fold within a month of that.

I am sick and tired of this issue. I made a genuine sale with a clean intent of jsut making $200-300 as brokerage from the sale. Now I have forgotten about that I dont care who blames me for what. I know I am genuine and these allegations are all just a result of a bad turn of events caused by an unknown factor. Now steen, do what you wish, mods ban me if you think thats appropriate. I raise my hands. Steen you have Chirag's contact. Mail him or call him directly if you want. I am out not only of this issue but also of the whole domain business. It sucks and I cannot take this shit any more.

Good bye

What is this, Kindergarten?

Listen, Scameekj...

If there were nothing wrong with the deal, you'd not have offered restitution in whatever form at all at any point. To come back now all these months later and try to dismiss it all as irrelevant is a total douche bag move.

burn the witch.... burn the witch... burn the....

Likely one of the few you have per day ..

(In no way defending prateekj but threats of violence, assumed or otherwise are very annoying, ever thought that if prateekj gets hit by a bus you may be on a list of suspects? You may think you're an anonymous entity in cyberspace but might find out that that may not be the case)

Sometimes extreme measures are required. It's evident that he doesn't care about the situation, aside from trusting "Chirag". It really surprises me at this point that a moderator hasn't stepped in. It looks REALLY bad when it comes to conflict resolution on this forum.

As for prateekj, if he gets hit by a bus, I could care less. I live 12,000 miles away on the other side of the Earth. If someone does use violence against him, that's his problem. Think about it. You said it yourself:

"You may think you're an anonymous entity in cyberspace but might find out that that may not be the case."

The only thing I mentioned was paying him a visit. No offense, but law enforcement in India is rather laughable and prateekj knows it, which is why he's basically ignored Steen for months.

I just went through the whole, and noted one point.

At one stage, Pratik confirmed he has not earned a single penny out of this deal and he just tried to help Chirag to sell the domain. And now in the last post, he claimed he intended to get $200-$300 in this deal as a brokerage!!

Isn't it strange?

Alot of strange and irrelevant things in this deal, however not sure what this will end as..

I get two points out of this issue:

1. Dont complete a website deal untill and unless you have done thorough research about your pruchase, and once sold as per terms, you shouldnt have to blame the seller.
2. Dont broker things unless you are not ready to take ownership of the same!

If by random person, you mean your friends, then this is the only true statement you have made.

One thing I can say is that Chaze Student Loans cannot currently get much natural type-in traffic. This is by looking at my vast amount of keyword data from recent months.

But a quick look at Alexa: http://alexa.com/siteinfo/chase.com

There is obvious indication that Chase.com did have a significant drop during the time of these posts due to the economy. Quite significant actually. It is possible that they had a program for Student Loans that they discontinued.

Just my thoughts and suggestions. I am not taking sides. Best of luck to both seller and buyer.

I was scammed by a guy once and I took a domain as payment. I regretted it.

My advice: insist on cash...and/ or prosecute.

So, Prateek... Let's get this resolved. Why not let Chirag speak for himself?
