I've just been scammed..

I was selling my domain here:
http://www.dnforum.com/f529/hqi-info-thread-357566.html

This guy http://www.dnforum.com/member-gawab.html contacted me via PM, he wanted to buy the domain. He offered 114$, I agreed.
He sent me money, as I saw incoming payment, I pushed the domain.

But then, I saw thay the PayPal payment is blocked, because the account, the scammer sent money is stolen.
The whois information for now:
Brett Edwards
3232 Madison Ave
Murfreesboro, TN 37130
United States

He doesn't answer my PMs. I have already written to godaddy.com, but they can't do anything...

What should I do?

If you pushed the domain at godaddy, they can get it back for you. The 50 day rule is useful in these circumstances. PM user godaddy here at the forum.

oops, can't edit here - 60 day rule

I've just PMed him/her. Let's see the result. Is he/she often online?

I haven't seen them in a while but that doesn't mean they don't check their PMs.

Edit: It shows that their last activity was 2 days ago so I guess they're on.

members who are "under investigation" should have their seal " bright red " as a warning to potential sellers/buyers ... they can rip off many people while being investigated
my 2 cents

Perhaps a link to the dispute in their signature in bright red DISPUTE ??
Other than these posts how do you if someone is a accused scammer ??
Read the dispute and make your own judgement . BUT ban anyone making a unjustified dispute to keep it fair ??

well again only my 2 cents and I know you guys work behind the scenes to protect the community

Agree, we need to enforce a TAG on their USERNAME to warn others - until issue is fixed. In this case, dude used a stolen account - that should be enough to raise the RED FLAG!

I am thinking that a flag icon next to the member's country flag might be a good idea if possible. solid green= no known issues, standard default; solid yellow = in dispute with another member(s) and solid red= banned/terminated, etc. don't know how much trouble that would be for adminstrators however.

While that would be nice, it would also entail a LOT of work on the mods. And who determines "questionable" user/ hacked account/? Could be rough on them (mods).

Nice idea, but unworkable I think. Best to keep each other informed of suspicious behaviour by posting / leaving itrader.

If we found enough evidence that they conduct illegal activities then we just terminate the account.

Life is tough - Keep it simple. There is no need to flag or classify them.

As always, please report all suspicious activities and be careful when you deal with unknown people.

I have been scammed by a member here before. I did the same thing by contacting godaddy and send email to undo@, but they said they can't help.

I wish OP the best luck to get domain back.

Send a message via Yahoo to Jeffreyw

Do not sell your domain to a member that just recently signed up. Not a assurance though, at least it's a bit safer if you do business with a longtime member.

probably

it is easy to check the profile, itrader, previous threads and posts...

of course, not everybody has a history
but usually no one comes here to discuss domains for three months (or more) because of $114
and after being banned logs in from a different IP to discuss domains for another three months (or more) to do another small scam...
