    Problems with content

I don't know about you, but I find content or content generation one of the most frustrating aspects of being a developer. Its hard to get fresh good quality content that people want to read and search engines love.

Come one, I know there are good content writes out there, but paying $30 for 500 words does not make economic success. So what to do?

How about a forum site and let the members post up the content.

It's hard to get good content period. I run some sites for a few people and it's hard to get content from them, even though I explain to them how beneficial it is to them.

So I've decided to put up sites that I can put in my own content (hey, it's cheap this way, too!), keep it updated, and I know the content is what people are looking for.

I find that when it comes down it my "own" content is worth much more and is better written, problem is that there are only so many hours in the day!

I once had a girl from the Philippines write me 500 word articles at $5 a pop. They were good articles and I did very well from them. After three months of continuous article production, she got married and stopped writing , which killed the site as there was no way I could churn out content like she could.

You can get quality writers in places like the Philippines for incredible pricing - although it may take time to find the diamond amongst all the shysters.

I think you are looking at it the wrong way. All content is not created equal. Exceptional content will generate a boat load of links.

    I tend to agree.

Wanting professional written content from a professional writer or an expert in the field of the content's subject - $30 bucks would be cheap!

If someone wants to settle for content about anything and any subject for the sake of having content about something; then fine - pay $5 bucks.

But if you are depending on content written about a specialty, particular science or technology, that requires a little research and background information, then expect to pay more. Much more.

EHm.....I think I stated that she wrote good articles. And that it takes time to find a good content producer in places like Phillipines/India etc.

$5 in the Phillipines takes you a whole lot further than $30 bucks in the states.

Every article she produced was researched and i checked each one against plagiarism software.

And when she left , I could not find someone to replace her. She was truly great at writing content.

Had I kept at it, I would have found someone eventually, but my circumstances at the time did not give me any time to keep on searching as it was interfering with my day job. But I agree on the principle that getting "cheap" as in crap articles is a waste of time and money, and your website loses its credibility almost overnight. But you can find "cheap content writers" which is an entirely different ballgame...you just need to search long enough....
