Legal? No. Very common practice? Yes.
And if you are crediting the source of
information, the resource site will be happy. However, I've seen AP and Reuters taking very strong stance against their content being used without permission.
Some may quote Fair Usage, but that also is a very subjective law and completely based on the perception of the company / person whose content you are using and the judge deciding the case.
However, when it comes you just taking the
FACTS, no one has a copyright over that. If you are restructuring the content articles, then I'd recommend that you take multiple sources of the same news (use google news to find out) and write the content based on those sources.
Someone said that copying one source is plagiarism and copying from multiple sources is research.
