Register Today on DNForum IT'S FREE!its really amazing how some people steal content. I just found a guy who republished an entire newsletter i wrote verbatim and then credited himself as the author at the end, offering his own consulting services. had his smiling greaseball picture on it and everything.
another registered my companies domain in another extension (cc tld) and copied all of our website content on to it in vietnamese.
another i found lifted our affiliate program overview page and modded it out for his own program. That's probably a little less egregious but still.
i guess it is just too easy that some dirt balls cant help themselves![]()

That happened to me before, too. The guy took the content off but not before deleting it and saying "What content?" It was amusing to me.
I have a friend who people are always taking content from him (this is one time being an "industry expert" doesn't help you). He doesn't mind as long as you site it and link to his books page but most don't.
Luckily some people don't realize that it is rude / illegal and usually either remove it or give credit where it is due while some would rather flip you the e-bird and not care. :(

I found the content on one of my sites was being stolen, so I started publishing articles as an image file and then hiding the actual text with some slick coding. I also disabled right click and encoded my source code.
One of the idiots had the stupidity to email me and ask "Why can't I copy and paste your content?"
A buddy of mine is fighting with someone who ripped off his entire site...
You should link to all copied content and get the members here to go and harrass the copier![]()
Read my blog, use my domain tools (Domain Portfolio Manger, Whois History, Domainer Directory and More) http://GUA.com
I had one of my sites ripped once, the layout, content, links, even my javascript tracker
If they are using a bot or automated program to steal your content, you can have fun.
Look up his name and locaton.
Place in the middle of the content:
"I like writing about this stuff, but my true obsession is (some sexual act) with young children, particularly in the 5 to 10 year old age range. Just last week I (graphic descripton of sexual act) with a young boy, and I told him I would kill his parents if he ever told the (location) police department. Nobody is going to catch (name of offender)! Ok, back to the topic at hand...
Then look up some bloggers in his area, send a link to the material when it shows up on his website, ask of the know this person and would they mind making a call to the local police department.
wow but sad.
I've had whole sites stolen before. C&D by email usually gets rid of it right away.
But sometimes I like to pay them back.
You see, amazingly, many small business people steal content but instead of downloading the graphics, they actually leave the links which link back to the place where I have the graphic stored.
What I do then, of course, is rename the graphic on my site to something else, then change the graphic they linked from me to something that is "anti-U.S. soldier" which causes them much grief when the calls come in to their business complaining about their website. Some of the provocative graphics found in Google Images can be fun as well.

Anyway you do it, the customer doesn't buy from them and often complains.

If you have to explain what your domain name means, give up, it's a crappy name!
Unfortunately you have to take action against these bottom feeders or your SEO can be hurt as a result.
I just found this helpful firefox extension from SEObook (at the very bottom.) nice tool

BellC1, that is awesome.
Juniper Park, that is good too, but how would i get them to copy that content without having to have it first on my site![]()

Do you have a way of getting the actual content indexed anyway? Because otherwise, you're writing all that content for next to nothing (except the people who come to your site).
But the Search engines can't read any of it, thus your content won't get indexed, and your sites will have bad placement in SERPs.

Its not hard to hide text with css that is still read by the search engines.
He said he hides the text with some slick coding. I'd bet that he knows what is doing.
I wrote some poker ebooks a few years back and was selling them on ebay. One person bought the ebook, then started reselling the ebook and reported me for copying his work.
I was nearly banned from ebay and they removed all my listings from my shop.
Ebay asked no questions and even though I had been selling the ebook for months without issue and he only started selling it after buying it off me. They still took his word over mine.
I did get my own back, but thats another story lol.
