What is a good timeframe for "regularly updated"?

I didn't want to hijack but a good point came up that brings up a good question -

So, how often do people consider "regular updates" to keep traffic coming back at a steady pace? A day? Week? Month? Hour? Minute?

I'm sure the more updates, the better but there comes a time when it is too much - there has got to me a happy medium somewhere.

So, where is this time frame?

This is a good question, which really hinges upon your ultimate goals. Search engines like to see at least a few new posts a week - more if you're going after competitive terms. Make sure the content is original, high quality and reads well. As a baseline, make sure you update at least twice at week, at a minimum.
