What's the going rate and who do you recommend

I might be needing some writing done from articles 300-800 words plus blog posts etc ranging multiple topics. i am just wondering what is the going rate and what should I expect, plus who are reputable writers who won't run away with my money and write decently?

    Thanks,
    Steve

2.5-4 cents a word -- depending on the experience and quality of the writer.

Depending on the subject matter and if it's purely just writing (many bloggers are required to also post and find photos). 5.00 per post on the low end up to 15 dollars a post for more technical or detailed material.

A writer will be more likely to work with you if you promise a certain amount of work per week or month and you pay regularly.

Post your request with this website: http://www.freelancewritinggigs.com/

It's a nice community of freelancers and though there's always a deadbeat in the crowd, in general, the response you get here will be a good one.

I am a good content writer check my rating.
It also depends how demanding and critical you are.
If you say you want 5-600 words on fly fishing,
don;t become professor abstruse after the work has been done.
make your assignment clear. The words will come.

    Don't pay in advance!
When I have purchased from freelancers I always request samples of their work - check out their feedback on freelance sites - and I NEVER pay in advance, only pay when original work of a satisfactory standard has been delivered (I don't like to pay and then have to spend hours correcting errors)

Prices can be as low as 1c per word - but you do often get what you pay for at that rate, you often have to spend a few more bucks for quality/English first language writers

Along these same lines, don't expect every writer to write the content before getting paid. Just as the buyer is concerned with a writer not writing anything and running off with their money, the writer is sometimes concerned with writing original content and after sending it to the buyer not getting paid for it. I have done a lot of writing in the past and have good references, I am not willing at this point in my life to invest a half hour, hour, or more of my time on a project I may not get paid for. If samples of past work and good references don't put the buyer's mind at ease, there is usually no hard feelings and we both just move on to the next project because there is more than enough writing work out there.

As a copywriter I can say that I rarely (very rarely) submit content before getting paid - I understand the concerns of the buyers but I've had some ugly experiences with non-payment on articles ranging from 200 words to 20,000.

I'd personally recommend me You can take a look at my pricing and samples here.

    Good luck either way!

I don't know of a true professional writer who would work for a new client without some sort of money paid up-front. After a relationship has been developed, terms become more flexible. Then again, if you're only paying $0.01/word, I'm not sure what type of people you're dealing with.
Typically a fair compromise is paying 50% down, 50% after work has been completed in a satisfactory way. I've done deals with 50% down, and then a sliding scale percentage based on the time it takes to complete the project up to standard. For instance, if they finish a week early, they get an additional 10%...but if they are 3 days late they get docked 10%.

As far as rates go...you get what you pay for. Most of my experience has been with SEO/SEM related content...which goes for a minimum of $.20/word but usually I expect it to be around $.30/word. If the writer needs to do the keyword research the price can climb to $.50/word.

I guess it all depends on what you want the writer to help you accomplish...and the real value/impact you think it will have.

PM me if you are interested in finding an SEO/SEM copywriter. I don't offer my services for this any longer (even at $.50/word it was very hard to justify for the amount of time it took), but I know of a few people that are worth considering if they are available.

    Cheers!

I would recommend Kate Anderson (from Content Grab and Idea Market). You can reach her at http://www.ContentGrab.com

She covers all topics including all IM related niche markets, and is not only fairly priced, but her content doesn't need a bit of editing (and she completes projects really fast).

    HI

You can get a write for as lowest as $5 for a 500 word article but the normal going price is around $8-$12 per article...

    Thx
    Tom
