HOW FAST should you build links to a 'brand new site' ?

New sites should get ongoing links built slowly, not all at once.

Question:-What is a good rate to build incomming links to your brand new site?

-how many links per week/per day/per month?

-and is this rate this the same rate for each different type of link or the same for all types of links?

    Thanks.

I'd say as soon as the site is up start building backlinks. The more & from the higher PR site the better.

Start cheap, though (unless you have a budget). Find free directories, look for related sites for link exchanges, etc.. Try to find sites that are related to your site or else the traffic won't do you any good (no point having links from car sites if your site is about vulcanism etc..).

While getting traffic in is great, you need to keep them coming back (blog, forums etc..) for new content (also, when your site gets indexed by Google, it will be continually updated considering the "new" content).

build it slowly if you build it too fast it will hurt your indexing and theres probality that your page won't rank well.

Once my new websites clear the "first sandbox" bounce, I start gathering links for them. I gather 5 quality relevant reciprocal or one way links, then wait for Google to index the links, then gather 5 more, then wait for Google to index them, and so on...

When I push it at a quicker pace than mentioned above, in many cases it will cause my newer sites to bounce into the sandbox for roughly 1 to 3 months.

I also continually add new content to websites that I'm gathering links for, as this seems to help me avoid the sandbox as well [a slow natural growth pattern].

If you ever find that a new website without links won't seem to rank or surface after the first sandbox bounce, then search out 1 authority one way link, and usually that will knock it loose, at least in my own experience. In those cases I won't go with 5, I'll just keep it to 1.

Get links asap if you can. One-way links are far better than 2-way links. I have also noticed a site may not get indexed at all or indexed slowly by G without any incoming links.

Does anyone know of a script I could buy where I place a small banner or text messsage on my site so other sites can link to my site?

Just create a page with something like "link to us"
Give people the html code they will need and different anchor texts to use.
