Please vote on my blog format

I have narrowed down the look and feel for a blog I want to have created, to revamp our current site. It is for a mortgage finance site doing business all over the United States.

Can you all vote on which format you like better

OPTION # 1

They are both very different, not sure if less is more via Option # 2 or whether Option # 1 seems more informative and would appeal to those looking for links to multiple states , and the current rates displayed on right side
