Adwords for conversion?

Just wondering how many have had success actually converting adwords visits?

My company is launching a new app and we are looking for some good, cost effective ways to market online. We are not in search of traffic, per say, we need sign ups!

I realize it is hard to say without more details, but generally speaking, would adwords be a good choice?

You might get cheaper clicks and better conversions using Adcenter. It really all depends on your niche though. Some of the lower quality PPC companies can provide high conversion rates at low cost in some narrow niches.

I find adwords to be a good support to organic search results but its hard to know exactly what you mean.

In general, it's easier to convert paid search then organic search. My favorites are Yahoo Advertising, followed by Microsoft Adcenter. I find that Yahoo have superior support.
