Advice on monetizing a video content site?

Hi All..

Would like some suggestions..

I have a video site that runs on auto, been online 3 months and traffic is starting to pick up a little bit, but because the categories are just entertainment, music, sports etc.. the ads don't pay much compared to other sites I own.

I'm getting around 15 - 20 clicks a day and rising on adsense, but compared to some other sites I have which do that and more, they pay about 60% less..

Anyone any other ideas for monetizing a video entertainment site?

I have applied to Chitika but they are stopping new applications for a while until they upgrade system. I will place these on once accepted. I have looked at text ad links, but because the site is new, they said re apply when it has better traffic. (It does actually get around 400 - 500 visits per day and rising all the time..)

Any suggestions welcome for research, and experience from them would be good

I have found video sites tough to monetize because users tend to watch the videos for entertainment purposes and then leave, they are not looking for information or in a buying mood. I know this doesn't help, just letting you know my experience.

Have you tried Longtail Video?

No I haven't and will certainly look at that.

the site is currently a mix of unique content and some auto blogged you tube stuff from certain categories there.. Pretty sure it would against their terms of service but is there ways of inserting the youtube stuff into long tail?
