    How can I find Advertisers?

I am building a professional website where I will list my domains for sale but I do not want to use Google adsense and affiliate programs ads.

    My question is:
How can I find advertisers who will pay me and advertise on my site?

Please any idea or advice even on adsense and affiliate program is highly welcomed.

    Thanks.

I would suggest first advertising here.
    Second text-link-ads.
    Adbrite pays very little generally.

Install OpenAds and create a media kit as part of you site where you outline the benefits and costs for advertising on your site. OpenAds will then let advertisers self-serve.

Synapse, could you please elaborate on this. First time I'm hearing of this.

    This sounds really interesting.

    Are payment gateways also supported?

The AdDistributor network was built on a model closer to AdSense/AdWords rathen than AdBrite. We started AdDistributor as an alternative to the big PPC networks. We will accept ads that the other networks will not. We do however draw the line at what is illegal/unethical. We do not allow any installs or anything like that.

If you wanted to get the going bid amounts for a particular keyword, or had any other questions, just contact me and I'll be more than happy to help.

Adbrite pay zits. Watch you don’t take the full-page interstitials if you care about your users. Full pages of adsense pop up that pay .005 cents per 1000 pages!

I use the open ads and it works pretty well. Tracks if you want it and allows advertisers to control their own campaigns if you want. Moving to selling ads direct is better all around. No waiting for AdBrite etc. I still have them on and they have to beat only .05 cents per 1000 and they can’t do it. I will be taking their code out soon because they do slow the sites considerably.

I also found competition buying advertising at .005 cents 1000 pages that did this. Arbitrage. So watch your price. But the problem with that, again, is if you want to get a couple bucks or even 10cents per 1000 pages no ads will show.

I think direct is better for advertisers except more work.

The idea of these big services was an advertiser had a place to find all the sites they like. Instead they get keywords and even at AdBrite they cant find sites - it is like finding a specific website on googles search returns with keywords. Also, sites with traffic don’t always have users that participate. I have all kinds of traffic and see it.

The key question is how to find advertisers that are tired of being ripped off and want to take control of their ads spending and placement?

It is free to get AdBrite, get an account, and put all your sites. Test it. Also always keep one small ad because you will find they get you google results and therefore visibility. Try and sell direct.

I will look over turbofaces see what it is. Just keep trying.

Adbrite is TRASH. I say that after using them for about 6 months. The ads are cumbersome (to say the least) to integrate into page design, they'll stick up anything you don't absolutely refuse to accept (they have a massive surplus of worthless ads), the clickthrough rates are terrible (because of the crappy ad supply), the bids are mostly pathetic, and the bids that aren't pathetic aren't in supply enough to cover any reasonable traffic flows. Aside from that, the interface to setup and change ads is a major pain in the ***. It likes to revert changes you make (like custom limits on CPC and whatnot). In short, it's _****ing_ irritating.

I got less than 2% clickthrough on an optimization that google was getting 8-9% on, and less than 1/4 the revenue as with adsense.

Even after adsense turned to garbage, Adbrite was still a worse form of trash.

Direct advertising is the only way to go these days.

I would HIGHLY recommend skipping them to anyone.
