A little piece of advice - more ads =/= more revenue

In fact, I'm sure ad placement gets to the point where it drives visitors away. I'm a regular vistor to some game sites like Kongregate, Armorgames, and Ninjakiwi. Their ads are getting out of hand.

While I agree that ads help pay the bills, too many will drive visitors away. I was on a game yesterday and inbetween every level was a 15 second ad clip. Seriously? They (and the game developers) need to tone this down. I stopped playing that game after the second (or third?) level.

2 well placed ads will be far more beneficial than plastering your screen with ads all over the place. Maybe 3 ads. They also need to realize that not everyone is on a T1 line so that these huge flash based ads will bog down their site's load time, many people will go away if the site is waiting for an ad to load.

(Some of us don't have the luxure to load Firefox with an ad-blocker, too, at times).

Ads definitely can get out of hand. For a site with a lot of visitors, it is easy to think that the more ads you place, the more interests you can accommodate which might lead to more clicks. In my opinion, it is better to know your visitors and target what they are interested in. For a generic website it is hard to target so that's why some sites out there are plastered with ads everywhere with hopes of gaining more revenue when they in fact, drive us potential customers away because we are confused and cannot navigate the site...

You can have more than 2 ads. The key is having relevant ads.

I'm a little confused by this statement.

I use this as my default browser.

Does firefox not work on some of the gaming sites if the ad-blocker is enabled?
