Looks like the new IE-8 can block ads from appearing on your website

I am concerned about the brand new IE8 pre-beta (I installed today) seriously impacting PPC because I understand it has the ability for the user to elect to stop 3rd party ads from appearing on the visited websites so in effect it probably would block Adsense and other ads from appearing. I read something to the effect that a Microsoft executive confirmed that new feature in an interview. This is *big news*

Well that sucks.

It will be interesting to see what Google has in store with its upcoming Chrome browser. The first beta is coming out this week.

Maybe they should start blocking Google as well, or is that illegal.

Firefox has an add-on called ABP. It blocks adverts hosted on 3rd party sites (mostly those annoying animated images). It doesn't block adsense.

Perhaps MS are just copying this functionality.
