DNF$: 4,015 Location: San Francisco | Minisites strategy I have not created any web pages before but I'd like to try some minisites to make money off Adsense (or similar). I have some decent domains and some ideas for content.
My goal is about $100 per month, from say 2 or 3 sites...no more.
My plan is:
1. Create website (got some free templates with Dreamweaver).
2. Load with content (nothing fancy but I have some ideas).
3. Submit site to search engines.
4. Sign up with Adsense (or similar)
5. Splash some links around.
6. Let the traffic roll in.
If these sites do well I will soon replicate.
Any tips?

Any tips? | For 2-3 sites, Dreamweaver is OK, and if you intend to replicate it for more sites than that, it will eventually use up all of your time.
If it's content sites you want to build, use a CMS type site builder , Wordpress is ideal for this, very easy to use and learn, highly customizable, you can pretty much make the site what you want it to look like, hundreds of plugins available, and so on...
There are also hundreds of templates available and if your not happy with the ready built templates, just head over to oswd.org and see if there are any templates that interest you, if not you can either build your own (quite easy to do, since there are only a few files you need to modify) or buy templates from other sources like template monster. Thor | If you can't afford or don't want to pay for services like wordtracker or Nichebot, sing up for Adwords and use their free tools.
Using Adwords can be time consuming so you can either buy a software like SEO Elite which can parse the results of Adwords bids or if you cant afford that either, use the free version of TheDowser which can provide a similar result to a limited extent. Either way sign up for an Adwords account, and as previously suggested, use the OVT bid tool if it works...
Just my thoughts.... |

I use wordpress for all my minisites. And they work efficiently. |

I managed to run all of my wordpress blogs of one code-base, so I only need to upgrade one time, and then re-mod my configuration file.
Basically wp-config.php has been modified to check which hostname it's being accessed under and will read an additional config-file depending on the hostname.

Chappy, keep one thing in mind, Content is King.
I did some mini sites myself, and over a period of time, they do good. Just dont expect them to start making money right away.

/Frank M | Frank....
what do u mean by custom permalink URL?...and how did u set all blogs off of one code-base?....this allows u to mass upgrade wordpress?...or plugins also?

DNF$: 5,841 Location: DomainMagnate.com | You'll need many links to get google traffic and revenue.
The easiest way is go signup at digg, delicious and a few similar sites and submit your newly created sites there - that will get them indexed fast and help you get some initial traffic..
If you're going to write content yourself - make it something you're interested in, otherwise do some research and choose a narrow niche with enough ads.
