Question Which Name Should I Use For A Radio Classifieds Site?

    Hi!

I have two candidates. One is an excellent two word generic name that gets some organic traffic (126 uniques & 18 clicks/mo.) while the other is a three word lessor name that gets a good deal of traffic from a previous somewhat similar use that was a subscription site. The second name got 435 uniques and 89 clicks last month. It also has 24 links in. The first name is 'VintageRadio.com' while the second is 'RadioSwapMeet.com'. Both are related to antique radio collecting with 'Vintage Radio' being one of the best terms for this niche category. My idea is to put a specialized classifieds site on one and forward the other to it. The term Radio Swap Meet shows NO Google searches last month while 'Vintage Radio' had 53,300 term searches.

The bottom line is would you build the better name and forward the lessor name to it or visa vie. I guess that the other options are to let the lessor (but somewhat trafficed) name stand on its own and do something else with the better name.

    Thanks for your opinion!

    Jon

VintageRadio.com is a more memorable name and has a lot of exact searches a month. I would use that and do a 301 with RadioSwapMeet.Com.

Thanks for the input. Now all that I have to do is to 'do something'!

if you're short on time, yes, i would just do 301 redirects to the new site. however, i like to build out several sites within a category and interlink them to dominate the first page of google. for some searches i might own three or four of the web sites listed on the first page of Google for a particular search term. so if you have a little more time you might consider building out the second site (the one with the backlinks) so you have a cluster of sites in this category.
