I'm not a big fan of any of those options, especially for less experienced webmasters. If you're willing to put in some effort and target your visitors, I think learning how to use affiliate offers would be best.

Last I checked yahoo publisher was only open to Americans and/or websites specifically targeting a US audience. Has this changed?

I recommend alternative sources just for diversity. For instance, parked revenue is way down this month, but I'm up over last month due to adsense being way up. Parking still gets me my best RPM, but adsense is starting to close the gap.
AdBrite has worked great for me in the past, at the time though i owned a website with a hell of a lot of traffic. I've recently tried using adtoll.com and they seem ok.
